The team at OC Communications & Events is proud to say CATWALKTHEATRE was a spectacular event. Showcasing Australia’s hottest designers to a fashion crowded audience; it brought that fashion buzz to Melbourne’s hottest spot, Federation Square and was a great kick start to the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival. From all reports we’ve thrown down the gauntlet and set the bar high for the official shows which start next week.

The night started with Melbourne’s fashion set sipping Chambord cocktails in the Atrium at Federation Square. Celebrities spotted in the crowd were Anthony Capon, the winner of the 2009 Project Runway and Jane Turner who needs no introduction.

Jessica Ward from CircaNICA, left the audience stunned and amazed with her captivating performance; a contortion hand-balancing act perched upon three canes. Launching the designer showcases, were a myriad of professional dancers from Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance. The dancers wore Alexandra Harper’s exquisite black and white millinery collection.

Melbourne’s fashionistas were then given the opportunity to see the Catwalk on fire with creations from Sally Jones, Paula Kyle Walden, Daniela Orlando, Ever Layne, Nikolina Concepts, Lisa Maree, Eva Q Design, Fauve, Metal Couture, Justine Davis and Made in Donald.

Presenter, Amber Renae, looked stunning as usual and invited Mindy Jackson from Rogue Traders to draw the lucky winner of the door prize. A Mini for the weekend, from Bib Stillwell’s Mini Garage, was won by an excited Em Carman. We hope she has fun out and about in it; we have definitely loved driving around in ours.

The development of CATWALKTHEATRE is a creative exercise in itself. We have been delighted to premier these collections of performances and pieces, that powerfully exuded an extravagant fusion of fashion, theatre, music and dance.
