At the age of 30 years, Joey Scandizzo is already seen as one of the icons of the Australian hairdressing industry. His accolades are numerous and in April 2010 he was voted Australian Hairdresser of the Year by industry peers. His perfected glances into the future of hair have been published in multiple countries.
As editorial session stylist, Joey has delivered finesse and integrity to countless glossy publications and has adopted the role as director for several fashion weeks. A fervent relationship with fashion is paramount to Joey. The style-setter views seasonal trends as a perfect vehicle into the public eye in his quest to raise hair styling’s profile – developing trends for the runway allows Joey to commercialise and personalise the seasons’ key looks for clientele, ultimately raising respect and interested in his work.
Over the last 3 years Joey has been the key educator for SEBASTIAN PROFESSIONAL products in Australia and throughout Asia. This role has given him invaluable insight into areas such as product marketing and testing in which he plays a pivotal role.
Joey is regularly called upon radio and TV appearances, which has added further demand to his growing list of celebrity clientele at his salon. It has also given him the opportunity to find creative minded talent which he recognises as the future of the hairdressing industry.
